Front Suspension Creaking When It's Hot Outside
My 2008 G37S coupe started making a strange creaking noise from the front end while going over speed bumps when it's hot outside. Whenever the temperature is above 80 degrees or so the creaking is prevalent, strangely when it's cooler the noise seems to go away.
The car has about 61k miles on it. Could this be an issue with the sway bar bushings needing lubrication? I did a search and it's unclear to me if these cars require greasing every so often. Thanks in advance for your help. |
mine does this too i recently noticed. hopefully someone answers. lol

There are no grease fittings on our cars, however you can get a grease needle and inject some grease through the side of the dust boot. The needle attaches to the end of a grease gun. If you do this yourself be careful not to tear the boot, and don't go overboard with the grease. It sounds to me like one of your ball joints might need greasing so I would start there, and do your tie rod ends for good measure. If that doesn't do it you might have a control arm bushing squeaking and the only long term fix is replacement. Good luck.

any recommendation on the type of grease?

Any good chassis grease will suffice.

Did anyone have success from greasing the dust boot or ball joints? Or is it likely a control arm bushing?

Mine did the same thing, ended up being my strut tower bolts. I had the tower brace and they worked there way loose. Tightened them and no more squeak.

Try lubing your sway bar bushings
