Great mild drop solution for your G
So after much searching and input for others on here I found a great mild drop for the G. The option I chose keeps the car specs within factory alignment. The front uses Tanabe NF210 (1") springs only with a .25" strut spacer while the rear is .25" spring mount cutting. Total front is .75" and rear .25".
For the front I installed the NF210 springs and machined a 1/4" strut spacer to mount inbetween the strut and body. This giving the front a total drop of .75" instead of 1". I used a rubber/cork gasket sheet from the local auto parts store. I traced the strut spacer with the gasket material. I kept the stock gasket between the strut pillow mount and the strut spacer then added the rubber gasket between the spacer and body. The Tanabe springs are a softer spring rate compared to stock but driving you can't tell any difference. The 1" drop puts the front at the max of allowed -1 degree of camber from factory "green" specs on alignment. The .75" drop keeps the camber around -.7 degrees and well within the maximum of -1 degree. There is no camber adjustment on the front end so any drop will give negative camber. A huge plus to this drop is there no need for a front camber kit! But also perfect tire to fender gap all the way around the tire, not just the top of the tire to fender like slammed drops.
The rear I used the spring mod below to gain .25" drop. I cut the spring rubber mount with a band saw at 1/4" as precisely as possible. The rubber pushes around and bends a little under pressure during cutting. There is a plastic ring near the inside of the mount to cut through but if done carefully it will come out perfect! I marked each portion of the rubber at 1/4" so I could trace the cutting around the round portion with the band saw. This mild drop gives also a perfect tire to fender gap all the way around. Also the alignment is well within the factory range of adjustments to correct some camber and toe. I recommend anything more than 3/8"-1/2" cut to use a rear camber/toe kit.

The drop installed measured to be 27 3/4" front fenders and 27 1/2" rear fenders. The car drives just like stock and looks like a true "S" model now that it's lowered. If you want a more raked look then leave the stock rear spring perches and only do the 3/4" drop up front. Mine has a very slight rake but only noticeable on flat ground from a far distance to see the whole underbody line. I can produce more strut spacers with sales via PM.

Definitely something to think about on dropping mine. Nice. Any pics of what you did on the rears? Also, any idea how this translate to the G37xS sedan? I could probably get mine cut from stainless on the waterjet.

The rears I didn't grab any pics but should have, however I followed the pictures in the link so it was pretty much covered already. It should work just the same for the sedan and X model if they run the same suspension as regular models just taller. I would expect they would also stay in allowed specs for alignment.

The stance is perfect. You should consider packaging this as a kit with step-by-step instructions. Love the ingenuity you put into this mod.

Thanks dude! I could put together some instructions with pictures for those who need it when they want to get some spacers. All I can say is this is the best mod for lowering on perfect fender gap and no extensive costs on camber/toe kits.

Thanks for checking in, been almost 2 years. If you have some time it might help if you could get a distance from the ground to the fender arcs, looks to be in the 26.75" range but pics don't always reflect accurately. And a fresh pic on level ground would be awesome.

Thanks! I haven't been on much lately. Got a couple inquiries for spacers. Might try to make a few sets to have for people if they want them. I will get some good fender measurements soon but original measurements were 27.75" Front and 27.5" Rear. I will see if it has settled any over the years.
