But really a decent used set can be had cheap in the private classified section, and it really makes a differnce cosmetically. We all know that we do love cars that perform, hence we always love a good performance mod; but since we all own G's, we like cars that look good too.
I think you mean widening the track

Find me some proof that 20 mm is going to make a difference!

It's awesome. Perfect blend of ride control and dampening.

Nope, my fronts didn't seem to raise. The only way I could see them sitting higher is if the lower spring perch was installed upside down.

The car is sitting on the springs, not the struts. Is there some aspect of strut design that's a consideration for ride height?

You can assemble the lower perch upside down and raise the ride height. Like this guy:

This is the incorrect way to assemble the coilovers.

This is the correct way to assemble the coilovers.

Notice the different orientation of the lower perch.

Yep, if there's two ways to assemble something there's always going to be a few that do it wrong

Yup. And its probably why there is a misconception Konis raise the front ride height.

Maybe it's just me, but I could not get my spacers off fast enough. I had them on for a week while waiting for my properly offset rims. They give me a very insecure feeling as if the wheel would separate at any moment. I went very gingerly while I had them.

I feel so much better now my rims are on and spacers are off.

Pretty much my feeling about spacers too, at least the wider ones. Small 3-5mm spacers to clear a caliper aren't a big deal but having another set of bolts holding your wheels on or longer studs (which do get weaker w/ length) make me a bit uneasy too. I ran 17mm rear spacers for about a year and was happy to get my proper offset wheels as well

Spacers

Going on 2 years on my spacers...no issues.
Had them checked & re-torqued when I had my new rims put on...they were not coming off unless they were pried off!

I don't have any hesitation/concern since riding on stock wheels & 20mm spacers on my 2 previous FX35's for a total of 9 years...never had any issues then either.

I just installed swift on my G37xS along with 20mm spacers. Looks absolutely great but feel the ride is really compromised. Very harsh over bumps and bouncy over dips in the road. Anyone else experiencing this?

Dude we live in Boston LOL you have to start slowing for bumps and avoiding potholes, LOL I have them on my 09 with 60k+ stock shocks and struts and no issues at all, You just have to change the way you drive

I am as well. I'm going to be switching to coilovers this spring. I'm actually just going to leave the springs in the rear and put 8k swifts on fortune auto 500's up front, I mainly want them as a strut replacement so the ride is more compliant, the ride height with swifts is perfect so won't be going any lower.

I understand its not going to be like stock but everyone says the ride is smooth like stock. Any imperfection in the road when I got over it like dips or uneven and unavoidable feels bouncy and harsh.

I did this and I'm loving it. Right now I have the dampening set at 5 in front and 4 in the rear. It really make the ride smooth and more planted when you push it. Look forward to your impression!
