G37 brake pad shims
Hi everyone! Got by G37 coupe a few months ago and spend a little time lurking so wanted to say hi and ask a quick question!
Installed new pads and rotors yesterday and lo and behold... forgot to install the pad shims on the back of the pad...
Before I rip everything apart.. any thoughts on if they have to be installed?
Thanks guys
Tony
** Little more info... I replaced the stock pads and rotors with stoptechs and it looked to me that the pads had shims on the back of them already so it didn't even occur to me to reuse the stock ones in addition to the pad I installed.
Thanks

BUT! one of the stock "shims" may be intended to be a heat shield/heat sink for the caliper, in which case you might consider putting it back on. If you have 3 "shims" then my guess is one of them is a heat shield and should be put back on, but I havent touched the brakes on my '11 yet so Im not sure....Im sure someone else will chime in shortly.
