Sport Brakes squeak in Reverse
#16
Yes.
'09 7AT Sport brakes.
They squeak every morning when first reversing. They squeak especially bad during the first reverse after it rains, and on cool or dewy mornings.
**** gets old real quick, and is ear-splitting at times, but I just learned to hit the brake hard in reverse and it tends to stop them from squealing.

typically if you're going in reverse, it's your rear brakes. it's a single squeak and then it's gone typically experienced after 15 months of ownership.
this poll was specifically for the rear brakes. Infiniti's position on the forward brakes is that they don't want to go with a softer pad to decrease the level of performance.

i've been wondering about this actually. let me know if it comes back after about 2500 miles. I had my rear knuckle inspected/adjusted and the front pads replaced and my squeaking went away for a good 3 months. then it came back.
thanks everyone for you comments. keep them coming. you'd be amazed how quickly they resort to "changing the brake system would jeopardize the high performance nature of the vehicle"

I took it back to the service dept, and they actually stated that they had a brake upgrade for the sport package since they've heard of similar complaints of this nature, as well as complaints of car vibrations while braking quickly at high speeds.
Whether the "upgrade" was an actual change or just a brake replace, not quite sure, but I haven't had the issue since the change -- about 3 months ago.

I have an '08 5AT and the breaks squeak both in forward and reverse at low speeds. I took it to the dealership and they burnished the pads but the problem quickly came back. I was then told this is a common occurance and they do that often so it's all normal.
The noise drove me nuts so I bought new pads and rotors and will give that a try this spring.

08 sedan with retrofitted Akebono's. Stock rotors and pads, Mobil 1 brake fluid.
Squeaks LOUD in reverse in the morning when backing out of driveway after cold start, especially if brakes are still wet from washing car earlier.
Squeaks mildly in D at stoplight and during bumper to bumper traffic after brakes heat up.
Rotors warped and/or uneven pad wear causing vibration during braking.
Those are pretty much all my issues with the brakes.

08 sport I always had squeling noise and dealer has not been able to correct it. I changed to project mu pads front and rear, squeling continues forward and reverse.
