KW's too low?
 

Hello. Hopefully, someone can help me out. My setup is as follows:

2008 G37S
KW V3's (no camber kit)
19inch GT30's
Toyo T1R's 275/35 and 245/40's
Ride Height (ground to apex of fender/tirewell):
front=26inch 3/4
rear=25inch 3/4
Aligment done: front camber 1.0, rear camber 2.6

No one in my city deals with any of this equipment, I had to order it all in through an out-of-town shop.

I had it all installed almost a week ago, at the dealership. The ride quality/handling (left the adjustments at "default" settings) is fantastic. I get slight rub in the back on large bumps.

My concern is that the back is too low. I'd rather have it at 26inches all around (or maybe 1/4 inch lower in front). I noticed this when I picked the car up, but the guy said that the KW's are at the highest setting in the back! Does this make any sense? Should I have them reassess it, or take it to some other shop? If I installed a rear camber kit and adjusted to 1.5 or so, would that raise it a bit?

My Rear is at 26 1/4 and is no where near the highest setting. Take a look at the top of the rear spring and you will see how it works. Take a pic and post it if you can to see if he installed it right..

pictures will help! duck down and take a look at the spring and tell us if the purple cup is flushed or not? if it is, your dealership adjusted it the wrong way.

So they are capable of a maximum ride height higher than your car currently is set at.

I lowering it only .2 inches in the rear is much higher than 25.75" I am substantially lowered and am at 26.25". Check your installation.

OK, here are some photos taken at different angles. (I couldn't wait to change after work, so my dress shirt is dirty as hell from lying on my back). I've also emailed these to KW and am awaiting a response....

They look to be installed right, but there is still alot of adjustment available. The bottom of the two collars do not need to be flush - you can "unscrew" the outside one more to raise your rear..

everything looks right. you could raise them up more by turning downwards. that'll raise it up. the fronts is the opposite way.

I guess the guys that installed it were under the impression that the purple sleeve could not be adjusted below the level of the black threaded portion. I think I'll take it back there and have them raise it by 1/2 an inch and lower the front by 1/2; I'll be at 26.25 inches all around. The folks at KW (who have replied to my two emails within 12 hours of sending each of them) agree with your assessment, based on the photos.

Was researching KW V3 heights and found this post! Thank you!:JAMIN: Now I know that If I set my rear spring perch at the bottom like your mechanic did your car in the initial install. It will = a 25 3/4 inch drop in the rear. Getting my coils installed in 2 days so I wanted to pre-set the heights if possible! Just a note. That setting is exactly a half inch drop from the Eibachs pro springs(26 1/4) on 35 / 30 front /back aspect ratio tires. And this what I'm replacing with the KW V3s!

you need to realize that 1/4" of adjustment does not equal 1/4" of ride height difference. ESPECIALLY if you're making changes to all for corners.

raising the rear 1/4" and dropping the front 1/4" at the same time will amplify your changes.

you need to think of the car having mass. if you raise just the rear 1/4", the front will ever so slightly drop due to the weight shifting up front some.
