Just checking in to let everyone know how the bulbs have been in the 4 years I've owned em. Long story short, I'm replacing them! Lol. If you buy cheap you buy twice. I still bought new ones from Amazon however so I really didn't learn my lesson.
Last summer and this summer I've noticed that the bulbs have been hyper-flashing on hot days. Initially when I signal, they're fine, however if I keep them on for roughly a minute, they begin to hyper-flash. I'm assuming they're overheating as evident in the pictures below.
The solder points look burnt. Can't assume that's safe. Mind you I'm using 7440 and not 7443. 7440 is what is used in the rear turn signals, meaning they only illuminate when using your signals. 7443 have a low illumination when your headlights are on and fully illuminate when signalling. I'm currently testing the updated version of these bulbs which now feature a fan alongside Lasfit.
The new Oxilams are now rated at 12v/8w which are equivalent to incandescents so no resistors needed. And so far they're holding up. Next week going to install the Lasfits and see which ones I like best. Stay tuned!
