I totally agree with you Rotary Mike I think its a compromise at best, I even considered seeing if I could retrofit some projectors in the oem housings but they are so stinking small, I may eventually just pull them out and replace with a full on set of aftermarket hella de.

if you're wanting real fogs, get a set of hella de projectors with a 3000k HID retrofit I have them on a more dedicated snow rig that deals with fog, I also have another set of the de's on another vehicle running halogens, nice super wide well controlled beautiful cutoff. those are definitely fog lights most OEM fog lights anymore are just jewelry for our vehicles the practical use in fog is limited at best. At least that's my .02 I've watched Marchal and quality fog lights turn into gradually worse and worse lower quality fogs to save a buck, A lot of the new cars are even starting to cross them off the options list altogether.

ok so for those interested i run numbers on it tonight with my light meter I measured lux on my white garage door at 5' and 30'

fog only at 5-foot/ 30-foot 1020 lux/ 4.6 lux the fog lights hit the ground around the 18 foot mark so not much direct light even making it to the garage
parking lights at 5-foot/ 30-foot 21.1 lux/ 3.5 lux
low beam oem 4300k 5 foot/30 foot 2455 lux/ 229 lux
high beam 5-foot/30-foot 6802 lux/ 366 lux

I will be upgrading to the v6 led park, the led fogs and phillips xtreme 4800k HID bulbs ill retest it then

If you want good fogs, I'd go with a projector retrofit into the headlight housings. A few people on here have quad projector coupe headlamps. It's a great way to get good projectors on the front of your car.

Definitely avoid LED "bulbs" not as bright, durable or serviceable as decent HIDs

Projector fogs in my Nissan where the high beams used to be. These have 3000K HID bulbs

He needs them in the lower bumper I believe so he can see ditches better. But good idea, maybe retrofit a projector into an OEM fog housing.

Lower bumper since my oem headlights only have one light (the headlight) and the turn signal, not the oem fogs like 2009 and prior.

I saw those projectors mentioned on HIDPlanet, they are "meh" at best. They don't have an appropriate bezel to fill the gaps, and the projector is poor at best.

The good things are that they are waterproof, I have not seen any other waterproof projector options. Majority of projectors rely on their host housing to provide water resistance, so these are appealing in this aspect.

The other good thing, they are a projector, and will protect others from glare, so that's a plus.

I think, in the end, we'll be looking for better options. I am seriously considering if the OEM LED fogs would be a good choice, I know OP is looking for true yellow, but my Morimoto LED fogs are WEAK (but they look good) and the OEM Nissan/Infinit LED fogs have more LED chips than Morimoto, and a better heat sink, so I'm thinking they must be a good option for us V/CV36 owners.

If I can find a loose car battery, I'll try to get some beam pattern photos against a wall before I install them. I also should be able to do the same with the oem reflector lights. As a last recourse, I have a new-old-stock set of CATZ projector fogs in the garage somewhere. Those had an awesome pattern if i remember right.
