New Guy here just trying to upgrade my Headlight bulbs.

I gotta 2012 G37x sedan and bought some switchbacks id like to install also with some city lights, but I want to change out my headlight bulbs. Are there any LEDS’s that work for them?? because I can’t find any Dual Beams with the bulb size I need. Do I have to buy a HID kit to upgrade?

AFAIK they are already HID bulbs. At least my 2012 coupe is and when checking the Sylvania bulb replacement guide the only option is HID and it doesn't specify coupe or sedan.

https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/apps/vlrg-us/Vlrg/

Same with DD but they specify coupe/sedan.

Yes, all G's have HIDs from the factory.

Re-posting what I just put in another thread below this one:
General consensus is that the Osram 66240 CBI are one of the best bulbs to upgrade to. I love mine and I have had them for over 2 1/2 years with no issues.

Our bulbs are HID. The part number is D2S. I just replaced mine today with the 66240cbi.

If you are going to install the switchbacks, you tap into the green/black and the white/black wire.

leave the green/white wire alone!!!

I bought the switch back bulb just for the turning signals thanks tho

the best upgrade for your d2s in my opinion is the phillips xtreme 4800k, do some research on youtube there are some good comparison videos to the stock phillips and even the new higher lumens osrams super d2s bulbs the osram cbb

these looks awesome, I am considering the upgrade. Stupid question - but are these just plug n play pretty much or do I need to upgrade anything prior to install?

They are plug and play if you get the right size (D2S)

i Need brighter..

Since i bought this car i notice the headlights are so dim. When im out of the city and there arent many street lights or highway lights, its pretty dark. Hard to see lanes almost, and tbh an object on the road a mere 20 feet ahead would be hard to see at night.

Any recommendations?

First, are the headlight housings clear or cloudy? You may want to look into fixing that first if they are cloudy. worked well for me (pic below was before I used it -- they weren't that bad) but there are plenty of options. As for the bulbs, it's all subjective but I went with 6000k bulbs as I feel they are the brightest and whitest before they start looking blue. I replaced my headlight, city, and fog lights with Diode Dynamics 6000k bulbs about 2.5 yrs ago and I'm very happy. I have had a couple city bulbs start flickering on me but they come with a 3 yr warranty and always shipped a new one out right away.
