Fog light trim ring removal?

Anyone know how the fog light trim ring removes? I was thinking maybe there are clips from behind but before I pulled it in the garage, dropped the shield and all if that's where it was for sure?

I'm wanting to check the options about painting or plastidipping it.

Somehow I knew this was coming based on your comment in your window trim thread.

No worries, you damn dirty ape. You just need to remove the fog light assembly. And while that's easy enough, it's also a minor PITA. Check out the FSM, it's a big help.

Wait... I wrote this up not long ago. Go here and see Post #47: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...mber-fogs.html

Hey thanks very much. I remember that thread but didn't get deep enough to that length in reading it. I know you were taking out the lens, think it's possible to get to the trim ring clips from behind without popping that whole assembly out?

I think so, yes. But you have to do it by feel unless you completely remove the fender lining, which probably isn't going to happen.

ok I'll see what I can do first, but sounds like that filler panel will need to come out. I'm wondering however since I have the lower chin spoiler and the LED running lights that it isn't going to kill my plan as I am thinking it will go.

Adding the LEDs adds a couple of brackets and makes it several times harder to get to. How to paint with them on the car...... hmmm

Has anyone figured out how to do this with a sport bumper with the OEM front lip/spoiler?
