Unhappy Headlight HELP - What should I do?

So about a month ago some guy backed into the driver's side of my car.

Insurance ended up replacing the Driver Headlight and blending the paint on the bumper.

As you can see, the driver's light is super clear, and the passenger is foggy, gross looking.

What should I do to even these out?

Would it be best to try to sell both and get a new set of aftermarket lights?

For aftermarket lights, what do you suggest?

Dealership said OEM lights are $1200/each...and I'm not looking to spend $1200 just for a passenger light.

Any help would be appreciated!

You don't need a new headlight. Take it to a detail shop who markets their expertise in refinishing headlight lenses. It's pretty common.

Mine looked similar before I hit 'em with meguires ultimate compound and a buffing pad attachment for my cordless drill. Less than 10 mins if work for one and will be like new.

Did you just buff the outside?

Yep. It will work without the drill pad, but it takes way longer by hand. The drill pad really cuts down work time.

did you send it down first and then use the ultimate compound polish it out at the end?

Next time you buy a new car, clay and wax the headlight lenses two or three times a year, and they'll look like new forever.

Take it to a detail shop for a polish if you don't feel like to DIY. Should be a cheap and quick job, it would make the headlight like new.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but since it's on topic: Anyone ever bought an after market brand OEM replacement? Was wondering how the quality is and if they can still easily be resealed if taken apart for modification.

I used Rustolem Wipe New (under $10), be sure to take alot of time sanding the headlight and you should get crystal clear results.
