2009 G37 blue slate touch up paint wrong color
I just purchased touch up paint for '09 G37 Blue Slate with paint code k52. They said 999pp-ydk52 is the right color but that is nearly black no matter how much I shake it. Has anyone else had this problem with paint codes and colors not matching?

Interesting you say that. I had a local shop custom mix the same K52 for my car and it looks dark - I'll see if I can get a pic.
The Blue Slate is unique in the way it changes color and feels like it will be difficult to match. Is your touch up still a glob of paint or have you sanded it down to the level of the existing paint? Often it will look darker until leveled off - there's a channel I follow on YouTube that demonstrates this.

I have KAD on my G. The touch up paint from Infiniti was way off. I Tried another one online and same issue. I had a friend who’s a painter use my VIN # to mix my touch up paint and it’s near perfect. He said there was more than 9 different chips for KAD paint, so it may be the same for the Blue slate???

Thanks for advice. I checked out automotivetouchup.com and they do not list "blue slate" as a color by infiniti for that year. They do have k52 but call it "dark Gray Metallic". I have the orginial window stick in my hand and it clearly lists the paint a "blue Slate". The paint for that year had "scratch shield" which may be muddling the color in some way. Odd thing is I had an old touch up paint but it dried out and was the right color so I tossed it away.

Here's a bad pic from today - I did a quick touch-up last fall and haven't corrected it yet.

Code B30 Lakeshore Slate Blue Metallic from AutomotiveTouchup.com
2008 it's listed as Blue Metallic/Lakeshore Slate Metallic
2009 it's listed as Lakeshore Slate Metallic
Same paint code B30

I recall when I purchased the car there was 2 medium blue color choices. The lakeshore color is similar but not the same as blue slate. Lakeshore is lighter color. Not sure why they had 2 colors so close in hue.
Anyway,
I have decided to sell the car and it will be gone today. After much effort and calls and a couple of purchases I was unable to find a matching paint.
