Take a look at this, and if that won't do it, a battery disconnect will work. Also you can go to an auto parts store and use their code readers that will reset your ECU. Keep in mind if you do the battery disconnect you'll have to reset your memory seat settings, etc.

I follow this video as he does it. So when he turns on the ECU, so do I.

If you reset the CEL without solving the issue that's causing it, then the CEL will just reappear.

I have a wifi OBD2 scanner from Amazon and Dash Command from Apple's App Store. That's what I use for diagnostics and clearing codes.

I have a bluetooth scanner that I bought for around $10 and the Torque app for Android which was another $10 I believe. So for $20 I can clear codes, log, etc. Its a pretty solid return for only $20.
