LOL
It is it much louder inside without the carpet and sound deadening?

Without the carpet a little. I went the extra step and dry ice the oem sound deadening and oh my. Absolutely drone and road noise. I have since strategically place aftermarket sound deadening and its much better. Almost as quiet as stock.

Oh, that's right. I remember the dry ice. Quite the project.

it was fun. I really learned the ins and outs of the vehicle.. with the new mat placed i canceled out nasty noises and was able to unlock more noise from the engine bay which is awesome with intakes.

Hey guys a lot of great info in this thread

has anyone attempted to use their oem brackets and sliders in order to retain the motorized sliding function on an aftermarket seat?

i really like the auto sliding feature on start up and am working to figure out how to adapt this

my first instinct is steel bars drilled to adapt the oem sliders to the new seat base but I’m uncertain if the sliders completely mount to the seat on the bottom

That feature is is a 7AT thing only. The OP's car was a 6MT.

Don't know why the manual didn't get this option, or how it impacts your question. Just saying.

I am sure where there is a will, there is a way, but that would take a lot of custom fabrication and welding. I remember the original seat rails being integrated into the seat in such a way that it would be a huge pain to try and remove the seat and attach an aftermarket seat to the remaining "rails." You will also find that Bride in Japan is the only company that makes seat rails for the sedan for an aftermarket seat. They are special order and take about 3 months to get on a good day. Coupe and convertible rails will not fit the sedan. Hopefully, I just saved you about a week of research here.

I remember the motors being tucked pretty far up in the seat, they are pretty big too.... I dunno if that would work.
