passenger seat rattle

Hey all, wondering if anybody else has a passenger seat that rattles. I have the misfortune of working in the industrial area of my city which means rough roads, which means annoying drives into and out of work. I even hear it over the volume of the radio!

I read and tried what I read in other similar named posts, were guys had success in fully extending and retracting their seat belts, and others who were able to reposition the seatbelt hardware between the seatbelts and console, but my issue is different.

The seat rattles. The frame is securely bolted to the floor, but the seat assembly rattles in the track that it glides fore and aft in. I have tried repositioning the seat in various positions to see if I can silence it, but can't.

This explains why the seat doesn't rattle when I have a passenger in the seat. With the seat empty I can gently nudge the seat and duplicate the rattle.

Anyone?

Thanks.

Try this....

Open the door and check the plastic trim pieces that cover the bottom rails, side of the seat and the nut that holds the seat down on the front-right side.

I'm not sure how these are attached to the seat, but mine become loose, so every week when I wash the car, I 'push' them back into place, which seems to help.

Otherwise, they buzz and rattle when the seat is empty. This was especially bad when the stock tires were nearing the end of their life.

My seats would squeak and rattle with passengers in the car. I took it into infinti, they replaced the defective rails and the entire seat all under warranty. If you have warranty, I'd bring it in with the slight chance of scoring a brand new seat.

I checked all the plastic trim around the seat and they are good. Its definitely the seat assembly itself. Unfortunately the car is out of warranty.

On my 2004 I had a rattle under the seat and it ended up being a wire that ran diagonally under the seat to the power seat control on the passenger's left side. I was able to squeeze my hands under there with some tie wraps and secure it.

I had an aggravating noise coming from my driver's seat, and just re-torquing the bolts didn't work. I eventually loosened all of them up and then re-torqued all which fixed the problem.
