Seat Problems :( and i don't know why Please help

Hi Everyone,

I have a 09 G37xS Coupe and have a problem my passenger side seat does not go back into position when i lock the seat back after some one has gotten out of the rear seats.

I've taken a video to prove my point, since i dont think i'm being very clear right now.

On my Drivers side everything is perfect.

Thank You for any help worst case i'll take it to the dealer :(

I guess my problem must be really unique since no one knows why, i guess it's dealer time, i'll post a solution when the dealer tells me to help other members in the future.

Thanks Anyways :)

I always push the button first to have the seat move forward first, then raise the lever to tilt the back forward. The return process, push the seat back to it's upright position then push the button to move the seat back. I doubt it makes a difference but curious if you have the issue doing it in that order.

I wouldn't think that would make a difference as I always do the opposite. Have you tried looking at the seat fuses?

This. Mine has never had such an issue.

With the seat back tilted forward, the button should move the seat forward. When the seat is in the forward position with the back locked into place, pressing the button should move it back to where it was before.

If I recall correctly there is a initialization/reset procedure for this. I'm at work and can't check the FSM (they're on my iPad) but I remember having to do a reset after I disconnected the memory seat (door) switch when I did my power folding mirror project. It has something to do with resetting the ADP system to recognize when the seat is all the way forward and backward.

I'll check the FSM when I get home if no one has found the solution by then.

EDIT: Just checked the FSM for my '08, Section ADP page 10 has a initialization procedure.

Also section SE page 135 explains things a little better.

Hope this helps!

You lost me at you have a 2009 G37xS Coupe. They didn't make that trim in that year. Are they the sport seat or the regular seats? The easy way to tell is the contrast stitching, air lumbar, and thigh extension. Maybe the seats were swapped at some point by a previous owner?

Edit: Watched your video, those are the regular seats, which the car should have been equipped with since the sport package was not offered on the AWD Coupe in 2009.

Your coupe came with backseats??? I'm 5' 8" with a slim frame and I can't fit back there comfortably let alone any of my normal sized friends . I dont think I have ever tried to use that little black button on the seats.
