High Beam Solenoid Replacement?

High Beam Solenoid Replacement?
Everyone knows that the 2011 (and other years) G37 uses a solenoid to flip the mobile valve shade up with an actuator rod, which allows light to escape for the high beams (see page 38 of EXL.pdf FSM).
I have confirmed that my driver's side high beam solenoid does not function. I tested the wiring and I get 12V when the high beams are turned on, but the solenoid does not move the actuator rod/mobile valve shade.
Can I replace just the solenoid or are we talking the entire headlamp assembly?
Anyone with experience removing the headlamp or replacing the solenoid?

You cannot purchase the solenoid separately from the dealership. They will only sell you the entire assembly. However, you can open the lights and replace the parts if you can find the parts. I do have a spare projector available with solenoids if youre interested.

Modme,
Thanks! Sure, PM the details. I need driver's side for 2011...it looks like the solenoid is actually working, but the valve shade is stuck. I think this was someone else's doing--probably opened it up and glued it...
