Liquid Spill Into Heated Seat Buttons

When I first got my G37, I had coffee accidentally spill into the knobs of for the heated seats.

Anyone know if there are any long-term damages? I spilled it on the knobs, but tried to look underneath them and could not see any liquid. Maybe Infiniti expected this and designed some catch pans for the liquid???

I'd say you have nothing to worry about. Usually a spill in electronics will gum up a switch when it dries and can cause them to stick, most often seen on keyboards and remotes. I doubt any actually got in to the potentiometers and since you're not seeing any functionality loss and it's dried by now so nothing to worry about.

A friend borrowed my wiimotes and nunchuck, but when returned, one of the nunchuck button was stick and didn't work. I realized that it wasn't even my nunchuck, probably got mixed up during a wii party. To fix it, I put 70% alcohol in a spray bottle, then sprayed the crap out of the button that was sticky. After I soaked it, I pressed it a few times and eventually worked again.

So if the button / switch is sticky, I'd try 99% alcohol on the heated seat button / switch when the car is completely off and let it dry afterwards. However, I'm not responsible for anything that happens. I would do that to my own car.

For keyboads and remotes I just take them apart to clean and alcohol works fine, here though if you actually did have a functionality problem with your pots I'd try electronic contact cleaner which dries in seconds with no residue. Problem would be access which is why I doubt any coffee actually got in the pot.
