Audi style DRL's on a G37 photos - has anyone here done this?
I can't help but admire the new LED DRL's on the new Audi's so I did a little research and found some photos of some G37's with them lining the base of the headlights as well as the open spaces on the lower grill. I much prefer the ones along the base of the headlights.
Has anyone here tried this and if so, could an average guy do the job or would this require a specialist of sort. :dunno: The website I saw the photos is here. The ad photo shows a G with them curving the lower outside areas (pre-foglight version), but if you scroll down you will see some that are placed inside the headlight casing which is what I am wanting to know if anyone here has done. Cheers! |
that depends...how comfortable are you in opening your headlights and taking it apart? personally, i love the Audi LEDs. But, like the bmw halos, they belong on a bmw. Those LEDs belong on an Audi. I wouldn't want to copy them like how Mercedes is slapping LEDs all over their cars now.

Nope, no ones thought of it. Sick idea bro. BTW, make sure not to use the search function ever on this site.

Honostly I would rather let it stay stock because the Audi LEDs are thicker which brings out the looks and the car is made to match. Infiniti should stay Infiniti

i think Infiniti is the last luxury brand without LED DRLs on their vehicles. Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Lexus, even Kia has them. Infiniti had the perfect opportunity to introduce them on the new M, but instead, they chose to cheap out and let the competition have another edge.
that being said, there are very few aftermarket kits for the G that look as good as the ones on the Merc, Audi or BMW. even the new Lexus IS has some sick LEDs. the ones in that link are definitely el cheapo looking. i wouldn't do it. |

i think the g looks great with the iron man look, but adding the led strip is just trying to make your car look like audi and audi obviously owns that look very well. no need to follow the trend. Infiniti is creative in its own way and i'm sure in the next few years they will come out with there own look.

The urge to put LEDs all over can be satisfied soon. Christmas is right around the corner. Mod your house in a big way this year.

This brings us back to the Altezza lights era.

:bowrofl: |
just saw the new Chrysler 300C has Audi style LEDs now. i wish all these cars would stop copying Audi.

everything in the car industry is plagiarized, from mirror turn signals to coin collectors in the cubby. nothing is completely sacred, even the bmw hofmeister kink has been duplicated. good design is good design.
LED daytime running lights aren't just stylish, but they also make cars safer. imagine that! theyre intended to draw attention and make people aware of the car - and they do that extremely well. im certain over the next few years, almost all new cars will have them. infiniti is slow to change on this matter. it's too bad. |
