What do you think about a yellow G coupe?

My neighbor has a Corvette in that bright yellow color that they have (I'm sure you have seen some around). I was thinking it would look good on the G coupe with a tan or black interior. If yellow was an available color, would you guys consider it if you were in the market for a new G?

DmfG37sTT 08-10-2010 04:40 PM

Absoultly not. A vette is really the only car along with the lambo that even looks "ok" in yellow.

This....

swordsman54 08-10-2010 05:03 PM

The old 300zx looked pretty good in yellow...

DmfG37sTT 08-10-2010 05:05 PM

I understand the Uniqueness of it but even if you were to paint your car yellow so many other things would need to be done to even make it close to looking good.

To much money and work to have a terrible color look good. But by all means be my guest. Would love to see how it would look :bowrofl:

hufington 08-10-2010 05:11 PM

I'd like it!

Not my cup off tea. Wouldn't look right on a G in my opinion.

ShyTown91 08-10-2010 06:00 PM

Custom colors FTW!! Im all for doing unique things.
Do it! But find the paint code for the lambo yellow

hispeed-lowdrag 08-10-2010 06:02 PM

This would NOT look good. The Vette and the Lambo are the ONLY cars that can pull off yellow IMO. A G would just look cheap with a yellow paint job

ShyTown91 08-10-2010 06:08 PM

I think you guys are overreacting. It would definitely grow on you if it was a high quality job. Think about all the showcar Gs that are lime green and purple and other strange colors.

It wouldn't grow on me, sorry. I don't know of ANY showcar G37's. G35, sure. But then we aren't talking about a G35.

The 37 DOES have a very different look than a 35 IMO. The 35 might be able to pull off a yellow paint if it was a show car, maybe. But I don't think a 37 could ever pull it off.

G Nack 37s 08-10-2010 06:30 PM

G37 in yellow equal Hyundai Genesis Coupe:banghead:

Kidcane 08-10-2010 06:53 PM

I dont......

The G 08-10-2010 07:11 PM

A glossy yellow, yes. A flat yellow, hell no!

mike904 08-10-2010 07:58 PM

I just threw up in my mouth.

ShyTown91 08-10-2010 08:06 PM

has anyone seen that lime green g37 that was on here a while ago? i can find it, but everyone loved it

ucla bruin 08-10-2010 08:06 PM

I don't think the G is sporty enough to do yellow.

And when that happens, it might look cheap and/or ricey.

I guess I would actually have to see if to decide, but just judging from my imagination and such. I'd say I wouldn't like it/wouldn't buy it.

911turbo 08-10-2010 10:07 PM

i <3 yellow. but if you doing a custom color get a dark purple.....

soolman32 08-10-2010 10:20 PM

Simply put... NO!

cereal2k 08-10-2010 10:34 PM

Ferrari's look good in yellow. I think I have my G in yellow in the forza 3 game. It's not bad. But it belongs on an exotic.

KhaldeanHabibi 08-11-2010 02:32 AM

ive seen a lot of cars in different colors (cousin owns a customer paint/body shop) and i could actually see a g in yellow but it has to be done right and maybe add yellow to some custom rims and black out the lights but i think it would look a little off becuase we arent used to seeing a g in those kinds of colors. like when i first saw the g in a bright red i didnt like it but it grows on u just like how im sure the yellow will too.

HP_John 08-11-2010 02:45 AM

I probably wouldn't custom paint a G yellow, but if there was an option from the factory, I'd certainly consider it. There are some Honda/Acura cars that look nice in yellow IMO (S2000, ITR)

671slandBlue 08-11-2010 08:38 AM

I think it depends on how the whole set up is (rims, tint, headlight conversions if any, grill, etc) if the scheme of it all works well with the YELLOW, then I don't think it'll look bad. But right off the bat, thinkin of a STOCK G37 in yellow...I'd say no! I didn't check to see if you already had a modded G, to kinda see what it will look like in yellow.

671slandBlue 08-11-2010 08:51 AM

Did a really quick PS to get an idea of what it could look like. Not sure what Yellow you'r going for...

I don't think it looks bad...and prolly even have the roof painted black as well would prolly set it off even more.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ic/YellowG.jpg

And here's a little brighter yellow...

Love it.

hispeed-lowdrag 08-11-2010 09:49 AM

I will have to admit, it doesn't look as atrocious as i thought it would.

BUT. I still don't think it looks right. Perhaps if it was complemented with a black roof, or a CF hood, or the TS skirts with black inserts, something like that then MAYBE. But all yellow is still a no-go for me

JohnnysG 08-11-2010 10:45 AM

The first picture looks like mustard :(

g37mobbin 08-11-2010 10:48 AM

idk who the owner is but there is a yellow/lime green g37 coupe that was on bags that is on the east coast. Trying to find the pic.

Could you add a black hood and a black roof in separate pictures. Then one picture with the black roof and the black hood together.

ShyTown91 08-11-2010 04:07 PM

those chops look great!

tokyo_gaijin 08-12-2010 11:01 PM

No friggin way!

Vette is a sports car - yellow is justifiable. (Drove around in ZHZ for a while and it actlayy looked really good in yellow) So is Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, even the Z.

G37 is a Grand Tourer, means no yellow! pearl dark bronze is the closest I would get to yellow on this car. I mean would you paint Audi S5, Bentley Continental or Benz CL in yellow? hell no!

ShyTown91 08-12-2010 11:35 PM

Some one could pull it off with the correct supporting mods: wheels, calipers, headlights. i wouldnt hesitate if i had the money. but orange would be my color lmao

iwasgointo 09-07-2010 10:04 PM

Would look great in the proper shade of yellow, especially, with darker wheels. Not necessarily black, but not chrome or silver.

newg37 09-07-2010 10:56 PM

if it looks great in red it will look great in yellow or pretty much any primary color.

all colors look nice.. well most.

beattyG37 09-08-2010 08:29 AM

What difference does it make, the paint would just chip off anyway

Atlanta_G37S 09-08-2010 08:57 AM

it would like a banana stuffed with rice.

:smile002:

myk1013 09-08-2010 10:44 AM

If the Z's can pull of the yellow colors, I don't see why the G can't.

Car color's are very subjective. This is where the term "to each his own", apply the most.

And if you have a Lambo, you can paint it any freakin' color you want and it would still be the hottest car around the 'hood 99.9% of the time . . .

2008G-Man 09-08-2010 11:32 AM

Not feeling it ....

Gobbler Man 09-08-2010 01:38 PM

As was said before...to each their own. Color is very much a personal taste, just as overall car design is. If you love yellow, go for it.

ShyTown91 09-08-2010 02:41 PM

soo is this happening or what?

I do like the vented hoods on the yel and red below...
Personally, I think this should be stock on our cars, perhaps a bit more subtle

I think, with the right complementing modifications, this would look okay. Of course, not on a completely stock G. Although I probably wouldn't do it to my personal car (unless I was being sponsored by McDonald's, Yellow Pages/Yellowbook, or DHL), I do think it could be pulled off. :icon44:

Honestly... I think any kind of color will work if it's tastefully done... I'm actually debating painting my vert the 350Z daytona blue maybe sometime in the future... It's okay to be different... just keep it clean... there will always be haters.. but at least give them a different reason to hate on rather than the usual stuff.

Samantha 09-09-2010 11:23 AM

It doesn't look bad IMO, but I would never own a yellow G. I think black accents would set it off nicely, but it would look like a bumble bee.

I think Paris Hilton has a hot "Barbie" pink Bentley as an aside.

Bit more on topic, I did think "Bumblebee" when I saw the yellow G35 a few posts back. It doesn't look bad per-se, just my reaction to it.

Then again I actually don't like the lime green on the G37 a page back either. But hey, if they are happy with it, great. :)

And no, I don't think hot "Barbie" pink would work well either.

Yellow can work if it is the right one and the car's performance is beefed up and good wheels, etc.
My vote goes to fire engine yellow.
