2010 Coupe has two 3rd brake lights
#62
I thought it looked kinda strange, but I thought it was normal until I saw videos of G37 coupes with spoilers and no brake lights in the rear-window.
I found the service manual and it wants me to remove the soft piece that covers the cables in the trunk. (trunk front finisher upper). After I remove that piece, it says I can disconnect the "high-mounted stop lamp harness connector"
I might give this a try and hopefully I don't break anything.

Ok, so I did it. I pulled out some plastic clips with a removal tool to access the cable, and I probably ended up pulling out more than I needed to. The clips got semi-destroyed when I pulled them out, so I'll probably need to order new ones.
Made a opening in the trunk front finisher upper.
Disconnected the high-mounted stop lamp harness connector.
Ended up pulling out 4 clips.
I checked, and the rear window brake light no longer turns on.
It may be possible to unplug the cable without removing any clips if you can manage get your hand through the little holes in the trunk.
