Bat's Rear Valence Kit Installation
 

Hi Guys.

I received on Wednesday the rear Valence kit from Bat's, but in simpl ewords, this doesn't seems to fit correctly in the car. I know that we have in the forum some other threads about this, but none of them have some kind of instructions, and the ones that came with the kit seems to be just for the Taillight Overlays and not for this kit.

First of all, Am I suppose to spray soap water to install this, just like installing tints?, it make sense for the Overlays but not for this, I don't want to peel off the tape cover and then find myself lost without knowing how to apply it.

Second, if I position the kit to match the Muffler tip hole, it goes over my Splash Guard, then, if I try to place it matching the 1/8" or 1/4" distant from the splashguard, then the muffler hole and the border of the license plate doesn't seem to match either.

Believe me, I have tried for 2 days now, from all angles and it doesn't fit unless I cut it, and I don't feel comfortable doing it, I mean, I paid $40 for this piece of vinyl, and at least I hoped it was cutted to match my car's dimension perfectly. In that case the guy over Ebay had it for $22.99 plus $6 for shipping, total of $28.99, I paid Bats $47 (I wanted Priority Shipping). I have tried to contact Bats but he hasn't responded my e-mails yet since Wednesday and I don't really know what to do.

Maybe one of you have the patience to detail what you did during installtion, and maybe simple hints on how to do it, and also tell me if the measurement I'm explaining here are normal and you found the same, and if you did, What you did then to install it?

The overlay is cut right. Look at all the pics on the forums and you will notice the overlay does not go all the way to the splash guards.... its designed that way.

Judging by your post I would recommend paying someone to have it done professionally because if you are asking questions about the intall, you are not qualified to do this because this install is VERY HARD even for tint shops... so pay someone to do this and it will save you alot of stress and having to buy a new one cause you messed it up....

I did say all that to say this... I installed my rear valence and it was very hard and very stressful for me. I went to a tint shop to have my tails done after that...

So check around your area... cause its not worth messing up the overlay...

but it will look great when its done...

Bat's do NOT line up to the splash guards as mentioned. Same as the person selling the piece on ebay.
Trimming is required to get a tight fit. Your best bet, if you want an exact fit is to either have the piece painted or have a shop that has their own vinyl measure, cut and install the piece.

Also, BAT's overlay are very good in quality compared to the ones I seen.

That's what I was afraid of, I accept I'm not an expert on this or other mod stuff, and I don't even have the patience to do this if it's that hard, but I swear that if I knew that it was so difficult to do it, I wouldn't bought it, I thought that it was cutted to fit perfectly and was a matter of have somebody else to help you while peel off and stick.

Its cut right... it really is... but you can manipulate it when installing if you need to or if you do it on accident... alocal tint shop would slap it on for cheap... go that route...

cause I promise I cussed the overlay like 55 times...lol I have zero patience of that... and I usually have alot of patience...

good luck bro... its def. worth it when its installed right...

It is hard to install, I did my own install on my car and came away with a few wrinkles (mostly above the exhuast pipes). I will let an expert do it next time.
If you are keeping the car, I suggest just having it painted

Roof is an overlay. Originally from Bat, but I decided to changed it

Thanks, tint is 40% huper optik. I am still debating if I should do the windshield @ 60% -70%
