Interior Light won't turn off

I have a question for everyone with a G37. I just filled my tank for the first time and then drove my car home. When I parked my car, the interior light on the drivers side will not turn off. I put my stuff in my house and then went out to my G37 thinking that there was some time dealay since I left my lights on auto but the light is still on. I unlocked it then put the interior light switch to off but that didn't do anything. I then started up the car, turn the headlights to off, and then put the reading light switch to off. The driver side light is still on even though my door is closed. I don't see any warning lights telling me if there is a door or something open. I haven't found a clue in the manuel. It does say that the light will be turned off in 30mins if the engine is off to save the battery though. Does anyone have an idea of how I can fix this or what might be the cause?

This is a stupid question, but did you try pressing the driver side light to toggle the light? :o

Not sure if it is the driver side light or not but I toggled the on/off switch that is between the driver and passenger reading lights. The driver side reading light is the light that doesn't turn off.

I just checked and the light is off now so the 30min timeout must work. I will have to check this tomorrow to see if I have the same problem. If anyone has had this problem, knows what the problem could be, or knows how to fix it then please post to this thread.

What I meant was, did you try physically pressing/pushing the driver side light? When the switch in between the lights are either in the "middle aka it turns on when the doors are open" or "off," you can press/push the individual lights to turn them on.

That has to be it.

Thanks for the help. That was the problem. I had no idea that you pressed the light to turn it on. I haven't really looked over all the things in the car because I have busy with work and school. I remember thinking it was strange that there was no way to turn on each individual light. There was only the one main switch and I didn't see individual ones for the light. Never looked at it after that though. I guess when I was grabbing my bookbag from the passanger side I must have bumped the light. :)

I read the manual on vacation, but I only vaguely remember all the details. I like for a new car to "sink in", don't rush it, use the parts you need when you need them. When you do this, the car always has a surprise for you to discover. Like an easter egg.

In that regard, this car is a really fun ride.

I really need to get some free time to read the manual and go over all the in/outs of the car. I got it on Friday and drove it a lot over the weekend. I focused on the electronics though instead of the functional car options (wipers, lights, etc.). :o Hopefully I can play around with it this weekend.

:) Thats a very cool theory, first time I've read something like that, but I would rather be happier instead, being able to read and learn everything the car has to offer.
