USB Thumb Drive Question...

So I wanted to get a thumb drive large enough to use my music collection and purchased a 2TB thumb drive. The seller mentioned that 1TB and 2TB drives cannot be read on windows XP systems. I have a Mac and it was reAd with no problem

However, the G37 cannot read it.

Does anyone know what size partitions are compatible with USB on our vehicles? May a 512MB would work?

Thanks

The USB stick has to be formatted in FAT32 else the G won't read it. I had to use a 3rd party app in order for Windows 10 to format it in FAT32 (can't speak if the Macintosh can)...

Gotcha. I didn’t even think the manual would have info so thanks for the attachment. My MacBook only formats to MS DOS FAT (not sure what the difference is if any) but I will try it and if this format doesn’t work I’ll format it on my windows computer at work.

appreciate the help 👍🏽

So the MS DoS FAT option in Disk Utility is essentially FAT 32 as seen in this screenshot, however, the G still cannot read the thumb drive which may be because of the large partition so I’ll try a 512GB and update this thread for anyone interested in knowing the largest partition compatible with our rides
