Will My 09 Gx7X GPS Work After April 06, 2019??
So I've seen a few articles recently that the "GPS Calendar" 9aka GPS Rollover bug) will reset on April 6, 2019 and "any unpatched devices will/may most likely no longer work." So, I was just wondering what the verdict is on the older G37's with Nav. Are we screwed? Is there a way that Infiniti might be able to patch them? Has anyone heard anything about this?

or... is this just Y2K all over again and unnecessary press coverage trying to scare everyone when there is really nothing to worry about?
Thanks
David

Some thoughts for you:
1. Wait and see
2. You can always update the software (buy the discs). They are ridiculously priced though, and see the next point.
3. That nav system is crap. The maps are crude, and they don't show real time anything, let alone traffic. Put Google Maps on your phone and dashmount it - Done.

1. That was my first instinct, but I'd like to know beforehand, especially if anyone knows if Infinity has made a statement about it.
2. Map updates do not usually update the firmware, just the maps. I have an 09 so I usually have to pay double, buy the code for the maps then pay the dealer to install said maps. My last update is 2013.
3. Nav on the 09 isn't so bad, in fact, it is much better than the Lexus RX and ES I've owned, and hands down better than the nav in my wife's 2018 Outback...which will literally drive you in circles.
3b. I use Google maps a lot, but I'm n Google Fi and don't like to pay extra for data if I don't have to.
