Keyless entry range ?

I recently bought a G37 coupe and the keyless entry remote range is somehow short unlike my Nissan Altima which is up to 3 times the range. I thought it was the remote itself so i got a new batterer and it didn't help, today i bought a new key cuz it came with one only and a second one is somehow important so i got it. The new key as well has a short range and by short range i mean 2-3ft and sometimes i have to be closer than 2-3ft to make it work.
I have no idea where the key signals go to lock and unlock the car and not sure if its the antenna on top of the car or not.
Is there anything i need to change ?

My range is on the order of twenty feet, longer if I hold the fob up to my head.

It's not the remote, i think it's the receiver that has some issues
