G37S coupe won’t start. Yellow key light stays on after car is switched to on.
I’ve been struggling with this for a while now. My 2008 g37s will not start. I brought it to a Nissan dealership and they said that it passed a diagnostic, and that my car was good to pick up. I drove it all the way home without it giving me any issues even stalling it a couple times in traffic and it started right back up. Once I let it sit at my place for a couple hours and wanted to get food later that night I went to go start it up. It will cycle to on but will not start. The yellow/amber key light on my dash just stays illumnated and the car won’t crank when I push in the clutch all the way and try to turn over the engine nothing happens, no click or clicking noises. Things I have done already
-new optima redtop battery
-new positive battery lead fuse assembly
-checked the steering lock on the column it is actuating and unlocking properly( I can hear it when I shut the door after the car is turned all the way off and I can feel it unlock when car is switched to on.)
-unplugged battery and plugged back in
-keyfob has brand new battery and is linked to car. (Car recognizes it for unlocking doors and if I place key outside while car is switched to on it noticed it is missing and says no key.)

i got a couple friends to push start it with me, popped the clutch while in 3rd after we got rolling to a decent speed and it started right up. Drove around the block and parked it. Same thing as before, yellow key light and won’t fire up with the push button.

Btw, if you read your owners manual they advise against starting the car this way.
Proper way to test a switch is to disconnect the connector from it. Using an ohm meter in the continuity setting place meter leads across switch terminal then close the switch. Depending if the switch is a NO or NC type, you'll either get continuity immediately after placing meter leads on the switch or after closing the switch. If you get no continuity in either state, the switch is bad.

It is a backdoor kind of way yeah, but I’ll grab a volt meter and check the switch out. I’m not sure if that would be the problem though because The amber key light is still on.

yeah that makes sense, when I cycle it to on and depress the clutch it doesn’t cycle the car off as if the clutch sensor wasn’t depressed.

My money's on the clutch start interlock switch being bad. That key light on the dash usually goes out once the engine starts. Since your engine is not starting, it stays lit.
Do a proper diagnosis of the switch.
If you don't have a dmm or way of testing the switch, you can short out the 2 pins in the connector then try starting the car. I bet it'll start.
