Shorai lw lithium iron battery LFX36L3-BS12
Battery packs huge punch for the size. Weighs over 20 pounds less then oem. Has had no issues starting my G (2013 S sedan 6mt) in 0 degree weather after sitting out all night. I drive pretty much everyday so idk how long the battery would last in the car sitting but it hasn't let me down. Somewhat slow to crank after sitting over night but that's the nature of lithium batteries( crank harder as they warm up). Install was simple you can reuse the stock j-hooks as long as you space the battery, I'm using a roll of electrical tape lol you will have to remove the connector on the positive harness to connect to the battery but that's it. If your G is a track car or stays on the charger you could definitely get away with one of the smaller ones but for a dialy this is the smallest id go.

Not sure it was that one, but how do we compare lithium batteries with traditional ones when it comes to CCA? What is the longevity. I saw an article from Motor Trend. I guess our charging systems weren't made for these kind of batteries. How did you fit a smaller battery in?

Fair point, I don't think a "standard" has been made yet by the SAE. Mine's been in the car for almost a year, no issues. I drive the car everyday, and have left it twice for a week untouched all with no issues starting. Cold starts were only around 19 degrees this year, but it did fine. For fitment I got a set of posts for the leads to go too, made a step for the battery to sit on, ordered a top-strap to fit the new battery, and retrofitted some battery posts from an old build.

Somewhat related question: Does anyone know if a Battery Tender Plus 12V PN: 021-0128 will work with these types of batteries? I don't see anything specific on their website.

I wish my battery hadn't been acting so poorly. I replaced mine last year. I would love to lose 30lbs, my car would too. I am hearing things like improved fuel economy. Have you seen any better mpg?

To his defense, lithium iron phosphate is a lot to put in the title and LiFePO is like a cryptic language to many.
ezbme, I say no change in fuel economy with my battery. It did make corner balancing the car easier.
dwb993, Battery Tender says this when charging their LiFePO batteries:
a) Do not use a desulphation or pulse charger, doing so will damage the
battery and void the warranty.
b) Standard lead-acid chargers may be used, as long as they do not exceed
14.8Volts during charging.
c) Maximum charge rate is 10Amps.
d) The use of a lithium specific charger such as the units in the Battery
Tender® Lithium Charger series is strongly recommended
e) Do not allow the lithium battery to discharge below 8Volts as this will
damage the battery and void the warranty.
f) Do not charge the battery in temperatures below -10ºC (14ºF).
