will this thing do audio from the phone on the newer models as well?

my 2013 has no RCA audio inputs - just a USB port.

Yes it will do audio from the phone. You can use Bluetooth wireless music streaming, and the stereo will display song titles, artists, and even cover art.

So i live on the east coast, i got a 2015 q60 with the nav... what are my chances here of beta testing this, would love to get the google maps ability cause the stock nav is garbage , also listen to soundcloud and would love this kind of integration. also im an android user

Just messaged GROM online, then saw there was also a thread on here. Whats the future hold for iPhone users? I have a 2015 Q60S/Nav and only see Android compatibility thus far. THANKS.

There's a carplay plug in..just not fully tested yet. From my testing, carplay works fine when plugging in an iPhone. Also, this system works with a tethered internet so the interface works as long as there is internet (doesn't matter if it is android or apple).

I messaged Grom on their site to ask about this yesterday (or perhaps the day before - can't remember). The CS rep told me that their product is currently undergoing certification / approval at Apple and that the version of Carplay on there now is a beta.

Depending on Apple's wishes, as well as the certification process, that beta may either be fully brought on-board / advertised as Carplay, or it could perhaps be removed. Here's to hoping for the former!

Exciting stuff - trying to sort out a couple other issues in my car but I am very interested in picking up one of these as my next mod.
