09 g37x Rear left side panel Speaker Broke

Hello, everyone

I have 2009 g37x coupe and rear left side speaker on the panel does not work. I have took it to the geeksquad on bestbuy at INdiana and they said they will have to remove the back seats and take a look at it and will cost 200+ just for the labor.

I called the dealer and they said it is
1. Wire problem
2. Amp is gone
3. Speaker is broke

and will cost 160 to diagnose and will cost about 500~700 depending on symptoms.

I just think this is too much, is there any way I could have them fixed for lower price or way to figure the symptom out by my self so I know what the problem is?

Thanks.

If the other speakers work fine...you probably just need to replace the speaker.

I highly doubt the wire is a problem.
The amp may be bad but I highly doubt the amp only has a single bad channel.

If you just want to replace the speaker with a stock speaker, I would look on ebay or on this sites marketplace.

If you are some what mechanically inclined, swapping the speaker out isn't to bad.

Search for rear panel removal or something similar.

What blaze said. It is remarkably easy to remove the panels and check a speaker. Get a cheap resistance meter at Home Depot, Lowes or wherever. If it reads infinite resistance then your speaker's toast. If it reads a little bit of resistance, say 10 ohms or less then you're good. Never mind the back of the speaker says 4 ohms. That impedance and not resistance.
