2009 ipod cable won't charge device
 

Hello,

I've got a 2009 g37 w/ nav, and got a ipod cable to connect to the port in the arm rest.

My 3g ipod wouldn't charge off of it so I got a little adapter dealie that was supposed to swap the charging pins around, but still nothing with that.

I then got an original 1g ipod (thing is literally 3/4" thick) and get the same results.

I can play music off of them no problem. Is it possible that the cable will play music but the charging component of it isn't working?

Does anyone know exactly what version of firmware I need on the device for it to work with charging from this car?
