Driver's side molex

Hi guys,

I've installed an aftermarket amp and speakers in my G37 sedan, everything is all wired up and good to go. I'm just having trouble running the new speaker wire from the driver's door to the interior through the molex connector. I've just spent one full hour in the garage but no matter how hard I try, I just can't get the interior harness to come out from the small cut out for me to drill the new hole. Any tips or recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks ! :)

no need to drill holes

have you tried fishing the new speaker wires through the factory harness loom rubber boot that connects the door's electrical sys to the body's electrical harness.
get a can of silicone spray and just spray it liberally into the rubber boot and harness. now get something pliable and stiff enough like a cutout portion of a metal clothes hanger and tape it to your speaker wire and fish it through the harness loom rubber. you can probably also use a thick zip tie to fish the wires also.
now you don't have to drill any holes.

I'm talking about the interior harness as in the white part of the molex. I can't get it to come out from the door to drill the new hole. Any ideas what to do ?

it should have release tab on the top or bottom

Haha yes, I know. I meant come out as in pull that harness (inside the interior) out to about where the gas pedal is, so I can drill a new hole.

I finally got it done ! Pulling the harness out definitely was the hardest and took the longest. Running the new wires through the rubber grommet was easy as with WD40 haha. Just wondering, where do you guys mount your amp ?

did you make sure your door locks, windows, key less entry, etc work?

I have a few bent pins when I reconnected my harnesses in the door jamb.

I mounted my amp in the spare tire well. The spare is kinda useless if you have aftermarket wheels.
A lot of people mount their amp on the rear seat

Definitely check all of the above, including the trunk release button on the back. It's a pain in the butt when you bend a pin. Molex connections are such a pain, old cars were nice where you can just run it through the rubber gourmet. What kind of amp do you have? Depending on the foot print you could mount it to the side.

Yeah, everything works ! I don't know why Nissan couldn't just use the ordinary rubber grommet like in old cars ? I have an Alpine MRX-F65 4 channel amp.

a molex plug is much easier to manufacture vs running all the wire separate.

then all the worker has to do is put the two pieces together and hes done
