iphone 5S & 2009 G37 (Apple's 30 Pin isn't charging)
Hey Guys!
It's been awhile since i've been on here and hope everyone is doing well. So I have a 2009 G37 Sedan and when I had my iPhone 4S, was using the black small adapter that everyone was using (forgot the name, Cable Jive!!! that's it), but it went on the end of the EXISTING G37 connector's end located in center console, and then the adapter plugged into your iphone. Now I have a 5S, so I went to Wal Mart and bought the 30 Pin adapter, one is just a little white rectangle (Like the Cable Jive) with the part that goes into the end of the iphone. Then a 2nd 30 pin adapter has the square rectangle adapter, then a 3-4 inch cable with the connection at the end that goes into your iPhone 5S. BOTH allowed me to hear music, but neither one would chanrge the phone??? Again, I was using genuine apple 30 Pin adapters. Which one do I need?:banghead::dunno::thewave: Here are the 2 that Didn't work! http://www.thephotobooth.net/photos/...-Q7MNFRV-L.jpg |
No One has a 08/09 G37 and an iPhone 5S?
I'll be patient! I read that these pictured above were supposed to work, and they WORK, just Not Charge |
You need black adapter again top of your 30pin to charge....

Tuscani, I just figured this out before I read your post. Thanks though for the info!
I already had a Cable Jive adapter, so I used the cable Jive adapter connected to the stock connector of G37, and THEN to the Apple 30 Pin. I used the small one AND the one with the long 3-4" cable. They both seemed to charge. However, I don't think my Navigation or radio screen was able to control the iPhone? I didn't have a song on my phone since it is new, so maybe it works. Does anyone know if you can use the menu on your NAV or screen to control the iPhone 5S? I confirmed you can charge it and Play music through the radio with BOTH the cable Jive adapter connected to the Apple 30 Pin. So the Chain is: Stock Connector to Cable Jive adapter and then to Apple 30 Pin Adapter. Connecting a darn iPhone 5S to a high tech Infiniti is like trying to solve the theory of relativity. I thought my 2009 was hi tech. I guess it is, but the G37 can't look ahead 4 years and know what strange connector Apple will make so we all have to buy it every time we get a new iPhone. |
Good to see you figured it out. I've been meaning to buy a CableJive adapter for a while.
My steering wheel controls and dash buttons can still be used to control my 5S so yours should too. Give it a try with iTunes Radio or Pandora. |
Thanks for the advice

Following the advice here, I was able to integrate my iPhone 5S. I have a 2009 Convertible with Nav. I used the small Apple lightning adaptor and the Scosche adapter. I can now control music, including Spotify and Pandora, charge from the Infiniti proprietary iPod connector, AND see track information on the display screen. I'm a happy man!
I just ordered the CableJive dockXtender which will hopefully allow me to plug in my phone when mounted to my Smart Tap phone mount. I wish the Infiniti cable was longer. |
