The confusion is that during playback, UP skips to the next station/track and DOWN is previous...,BUT, when scrolling through a station/track list, UP is previous while DOWN is next.

Got it. I was probably overthinking it... Although I hate it when software devs aren't consistent (note: i'm a SW dev)

You may want to double check that you have those three (3) wires in the right place.

HOWEVER, as was mentioned previously, you should have a 2010+ preset switch assembly ("faceplate") to match your headunit. This could be the cause of your issues. I doubt your steering switches are the problem as, like I said earlier, I have a 2018 steering wheel and those switches work fine with the 2014 headunit.

Also, UP is for the NEXT track, DOWN is for previous. Always been this way AFAIK.
Re-examing the wiring diagram, the Vol up/down phone, and back buttons are all on the same wire going into the av control unit. (pin 16 on both the 07 M80 and 2010 M208 connectors). I wouldn't be surprised if I have a wiring issue with pin 16. Going to have to go disconnect everything and check the output.

Sounds like you are on the right track. All it takes is one wire....

I fixed the issue with the steering wheel controls. There was a pin that wasn't seated properly... pin 16. all SWCs are good.
