Bose speaker count... How do THEY count them?
When I count the ones in my coupe, I count a total of 12.....
(2) for bottom of doors. (2) for the small 3" ones near door handles. (2) for the Tiny ones above those. (2) in the rear behind the seats (on the sides) (2) on the rear deck. (1) center channel on the dash (1) (sub) woofer mounted center of rear deck. Overall, the SQ/clarity is great at normal to medium high listening levels. (All my music is ripped from original CD recordings to the Music Box HDD) I will be installing an additional 8" subwoofer in the trunk for a little bit more low end fill. This should make a huge difference IMO. |
You do not have a subwoofer mounted center of rear deck!!
(2) woofers bottom of doors. (2) squakers near door handles. (2) tweters above those. (2) full range rear behind the seats (on the sides) (2) full range on the rear deck. (1) center channel on the dash (used for NAV voice) The woofers on the door don't qualify as sub woofers either. |

Only on sedans.
Have you noticed you get better bottom end when turning the fader more towards the front?? Thanks for the update. So it's safe to say, it's an 11 speaker system then. The center channel is also active for audio besides the NAV voice though correct? |

Yep... I was curious as to that, but didn't feeling like ripping the under side of the rear deck apart to find out!...:bowrofl:

You will notice that if you change your audio settings to "drivers stage" listening, your center speaker will output no audio.....but if you leave that option off, then the center speaker will have audio come thru it.
|
Also I believe the two rear deck speakers are subwoofers to. I remember correctly no highs come from those speakers.

A subwoofer is any speaker designed to recreate frequencies below 120 Hz. These Bose speakers fall way short!! . |
I wonder if the convertibles woofers behind the rear seat would count as a sub.
|
I like the Bose system. Not perfect but more than sufficient. I only really listen during the fall/winter months anyway. Nice weather : windows down, let the engine & exhaust sing
