2010 G37 (non nav) and Android phones

I've been researching and I think I know the answer to this... but I just bought a 2010 G37 and was shocked to learn it has a USB port, but no aux input. I have had no luck getting the car to recognize my Motorola Android phone through the USB port. Obviously no Bluetooth streaming either. Is there any way at all to get audio from my phone to play on the car stereo?

This is actually pretty important to me... I'm not happy. I listen to a lot of podcasts, so copying them to a flash drive every morning is not very practical. WTF? Every piece of crap rental car you can get has an aux input now.

So, if I cave in and get an iPhone... Is it possible to jailbreak and use a display out app through the usb port to see things on the car screen like iPhone navigation apps? I know this has been done on older models with composite inputs, but not sure if the USB port allowed it also.

Thanks.

Ahh ths question! I also have a new Droid bionic and a non-Nav car and have had no success and I also don't want to download to a flash drive. I'm considering getting aux cables installed by a shop. Hope someone weighs in with the answer...and iPhone/iPod is not the answer for me.

Oh well, I tried everything but nothing worked. I gave up and got an iPhone.

Turning on USB Debug usually works. Otherwise, BEFORE you plug it in you need to go to Settings>Network>USB Utilities and use "Connect Storage to PC". It will then tell you to plug your cable in and you should be good to go. Works on my aftermarket decks at least.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I can't believe a car this expensive doesn't have a 3.5mm input jack!

I had the same problem with my g37. First hook your phone up to your computer and go to my computer and click on your phone . You will see a couple folders example apps, and other items. Create a music folder, once you make that folder put all the music you want on it. Then go to your car and reconnect your phone. If that doesn't work then go to your settings in your phone and click on develop options, and it should have USB debugging. Click that, you might have to turn it on and Then off or vice verse, then it should work. That's what I do every time I get in my car.

What version of android is on your phone?

I found a wireless solution for those with Android phones. There is an app in the playstore called Mono Bluetooth Router that lets you play audio and music through the phone bluetooth connection in your car. It's not stereo, but if you're just looking for a way to play audio and don't care if it's mono, then this app is for you.

Galaxy 6 Bluetooth skipping problems

So my 2010 g37 Bluetooth w nav does not like my galaxy 6 for media, it skips every 5 secs. I researched and researched but never found a real fix. So I experimented and it happens to love my htc phone! However I only paired it as "media audio" source and I also paired it with my galaxy 6 for "call audio" only so both phones work at the same time one for music without skipping issues and the other for phone calls. (my HTC runs off a playlist Spotify Premium Service no internet required)just to work around not an actual fix.
