i have a jap spec v36, and was just wondering if the ebay ipod plug i can buy will work with my car?

Firstly: where does this plug go?

On US spec cars, the cable you linked to on ebay is the regular iPod connection cable and goes into the car inside the arm rest console in the area you have pictured. Obviously, our connection is different, at least on the '08 model G37. The connection pictured in the second photo is completely different than my iPod cable.

Did you every figure out what cable this is?

I have the exact port 09 V36 Sedan but have no clue that what port is for or what cable to get for it

I know this is a old thread but nobody actually gave a answer . What is this cable for and what is it capable of ?

It appears to be the ipod connector cable on JDM or Australian Skyline models. It's not the same on NA spec G37 models.
