Ipod Video...?

Let me just say one of my favorite features of the G (out of the many) is the Ipod synergy with the TV monitor on the dash. its really intuitive and extremely convenient since the first thing i do to all my cars is get an ipod connector to play my tunes.

so my question is this.

can the G play music videos/movies from your ipod video?

i have a 5speed auto with premium pkg and sport pkg. no navi. i noticed some audio video cables and perhaps an ac adapter plug-in?? Do i need special cables for the ipod to display movies?

also, did your G come with a remote control for the center console TV??? does the navi pkg? i saw some pics online a while back of some guy in a dealer using some kind of remote at the release of the G.

THANKS!!!

*i hope im not reposting some already talked about topic. if i am just make fun of me and i'll go away.

you can play music from your ipod through the ipod cable (cable comes with the car)

you can play video through the composite inputs (red, white, yellow), while the car is parked (you have to buy this cable)

a little off topic you know what iw as thinking. i wouldnt do this but it was just a thought couldnt you plug a video game console into the audio video outlet and the a/c plug you get one of those conversion adapters and you could play it. not sure if it would work but i find that interesting

i don't have the ipod jack but i have an apple video/audio input that plugs onto an ipod and it works...just does not display anything on the screen. i use the aux. the thing is you have to chnage the playlist through the ipod and not through the stereo.

for some reason the iphone video does not display on the screen....

Are you using the old style iPod video cable with the iPhone? From what I understand it requires a new cable because the iphone has a microphone input on that same jack which the older iPods (obviously) did not have.

In order to be able to watch videos or games on your center display you have to have the car in park and the e-brake engaged other wise the AUX screen will go back to the info screen ( i.e, climate control, radio presets, etc.,). You can get the adapter for the audio visual jacks at any Radio Shack. I hope this helps.

Correct. The new iPod generations and iPhone requires this cable to have video output: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nplm=MB129LL/A

I have the same problem... I'm using an RCA to 3.5mm stereo.

What kind of cable is everyone else using????

Read my post right above. iPod/iPhone requires that cable for video output (audio does work though). I know cause I have both the 3.5mm to RCA & that Apple composite cable. The headphone jack on newer iPods/iPhone does not have video output capability anymore.
