spacer question

So in my search for a square setup for my coupe I stumbled on some 19x9 et40 take offs from 2016 Q60s for a very reasonable price and I like the way they look.

However, my research reveals that they won't fit over sport brakes without a small spacer, like 3mm.

My question what is the smallest spacer you can get for our cars, should I put the same spacers on the rear and is there any reason I shouldn't just get spacers and buy the wheels?

For your coupe I'd just get bolt on spacers of the thinnest they make (I think it's 15-17mm) this will get you a nice flush fit, clear the brakes, and be a simple install.

If you don't want to go the route of bolt-on spacers, I believe that you can run up to a 5mm on stock studs. I wouldn't, but you can.

Z1 also makes a 2.5mm spacer that I run for brake clearance as well.

If I knew the 2.5mm spacers would do it I would totally do that. bolt ons are like 200 dollars and I don't even know if I would like the way it looks and performs.

These take offs are on ebay...apparently from 2016 q60 awd. They look a lot like the oem sports and I think they would look great with my graphite shadow coupe but the only thing the seller can tell me is that I would need a spacer to clear the sport brakes but no idea what spacer.

The wheels should fit over sport brakes since they were taken off of a car with the sport brakes already, right? Unless those brakes are different?

They were taken off AWD non sport versions I think. When I first saw the wheels I found somewhere on the internet that they required spacers and then just dismissed them.

As I have continued to search I have realized they are a very economical choice so I have asked the sellers on ebay and all they can tell me is they think spacers are required but nobody knows what size.

AFAIK the only models that came with 19s are sport models, which have the BBK anyways so I think they should fit.

Is there a way you could send this link to the ebay seller, the templates are simple to make and only take a couple minutes to see if they will clear. Only would need to send the front template.

Well...no spacers needed after all. I found 4 rears of the Ray's 19 inch forged from the mid 2000s g35 for 850 shipped. They are 19x8.5 et33 and should fit great and clear the brakes, that good news delivered to me by the always awesomely helpful blnewt.
