Good summer tire for 18 inch rims?
So i been reading and see a lot of threads talking about 19 inch rims with tire set up. But i have 18 inch rims and ben reading about the 275/35/19 and 245/40/19 i was wondering if anyone tried this set up with 18 inch rims. i read a thread saying the most the 18 inch rims should go is 235 so i'm curious whats a great setup for my 18s.
Thank you so much for answers.

First of all those tire sizes are only compatible with 19 inch wheels. If you want a similar setup, you can go with 245/45/18 and 275/40/18. But that depends on how wide your wheels are. To fit those tire sizes you would need an 8.5 to 9.5 inch wheel up front and a 9.5 to 10.5 wheel in the back. If you have stock wheels you're better off sticking with the factory sizes.

So i have a 09 convertible that is stock with 225/50-18 and 245/45-18, You feel like i should just stick with those factory numbers i can't do anything fancy till i get 19 inch rims huh. that is kind of disappointing. lol

I would say stick with the stock wheels and tires for now, and save up and for a good wheel and tire combo down the road. If you want stickier tires, you could go with a better performance tire in the factory size, but as far as upsizing to wider tires, probably not a good investment on stock 18" wheels.

Get rid of the crappy OE tires and get max-performance tires. I replaced the stock Bridgestones Re050 with stock-size Bridgestone Potenza S-04. BIG improvement. Grippier, quieter, better ride and similar wear. With the stock tires, I triggered traction control every day. With the Potenzas, maybe once or twice a month.
You can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot Super Sport, either.
I'm going to ask the mods to move this out of the Review section and into Tires and Wheels.

I just purchases some Nitto 555 G2's. Will update once they are mounted but they are well priced and comparable to S-04's (which I loved but they don't make the size I need ).
