225/50R18 Square setup question

Been looking everywhere (tirerack, discounttires, etc.) for the most grippy tires. My current tires are 225/50R18 Potenza RE960 in front and RE970 in rear.

Ever since I bought my 2008 g37 coupe, the braking has been bad. So I've recently replaced the lines w/ SS lines and put in hawk pads. Braking power has definitely improved but I want to replace the tires with something that has the most grip possible (and the fact that my current tires are dry rotting). Live in FL, so no worry of snow, so I'm thinking some type of summer tire.

Friend of mine is recommending BFGoodrich g-force sport comp2, P zero nero, and toyo proxies; in that order. However, none of these lines come in the 225/50R18 dimension. And I don't necessarily want to buy 4 rims just to buy the tires he's recommending.

Thoughts?

See if Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position comes in your size.

Awesome, they do come in that size. Seems like the Michelin Super Sports have really good ratings.

The Bridgestones are almost as good. I might 21k miles from my set.

Also the newest Continental Extreme Contact Sport which replaced the Extreme Contact DW is getting outstanding reviews. Should be closer in price to the Pole Positions than the Michelins. Here's a current review
TESTED: Continental Tire ExtremeContact Sport

Darn. My replacement tire short list grew by one. The Contis fit between the S-04 and PSS price-wise.

Per tirerack, the 225/50R18 size isn't available for the ExtremeContact Sport

Run 245/45/18s all around, will be better planted and still in the recommended wheel width range (7.5-9" width)

You should look at nitto nt555. I am currently running a square 225/40/18 and they are amazing.
