Hey guys! So I about a month ago, I bought a set of VMR V702 wheels and I'd like to take this thread to post up some of my first impressions. First and foremost, thanks to Tracy over at VMR Wheels for setting everything up so smoothly and quickly. Top notch customer service and response time! If you're not familiar with the VMR brand, they're pretty popular in the Euro market. They're not as well-known in the JDM scene, but that's to change for sure. What people don't really know is that they machine and drill their wheels in-house, which means they can re-size hub bores and bolt patterns to ensure an exact fit onto the customer's car unlike many wheel companies that just offer a "universal fit" that require you to use some sort of hub adapter ring.
For those of you who have seen pictures of my car in other parts of the forum, I ran the 19" coupe sport wheels for the past few months. While they were definitely a step up over the 18" duckfeet that came standard on my XS model, I always wanted something with a little more attitude. I shopped around for some potential wheels, but none really fit my budget, taste, or size preference. I wanted to stick with 19" because, well, in my opinion that's the perfect balance of form and function! I didn't want overweight 20" wheels, and 18's are just too small. Ideally, I wanted a 19x9.5 square setup so that I could continue using my 245/40/19 tires and have the ability to rotate them to even out the tread wear.
I had a set of VMRs on my old G35 coupe, and loved the look, so I decided to send them an email to ask for a consultation. Tracy, who handles the JDM platform at VMR Wheels, answered me very quickly and, despite my specific set of parameters, gave me a comprehensive list of styles to choose from. A few caught my eye, but I ultimately went with the V702. They are reminiscent of the OEM 19's, but give it a more aggressive look with its wider and concave profile. The +33 offset ended up being a perfect fit, and I think the V702 really complements the lines of the V36 sedan nicely!
As mentioned, it's been about a month with the wheels on the car and I haven't really had any issues with the wheels. My only gripe about it is that the front axle of the AWD sticks out past the wheel hub, so the center caps do not fit. Never heard of this happening before on other wheels, but maybe the combination of the concave profile, lower offset, and wider stance all play into that. Looks a little odd having center caps on the rears only. Not a big deal though, I'm just beginning to get over it LOL. Other than that, I'm definitely satisfied with my purchase

Thanks for the review, love the look of those on your G and you did a great job getting the perfect specs for your car. Is there any way to shave down the sides of the front center cap to allow it to clear that hub?
Thats a nice set up and was thinking of getting VMR but the V710.... Don't know if it would look good but what do you think? (My first G ever btw)
V710's should be a great look for sure. They're probably the most popular model for the G37 sedan (should be lots of pics on Google). Tracy has fitted V710's on a few G37's himself and I'm sure if you shoot him an email he would be able to help you out. Tell him I sent you

Be careful if you have BBK/Akebono. I was looking at a similar wheel from Miro but it required a spacer up front for the bigger brakes.
Yep, definitely check with the vendor to see if they will clear BBK. While I was consulting with Tracy he mentioned the V810 should be BBK friendly, but since I don't have akebonos I didn't really care.
