Various VPP pricing?

I was looking for any remaining 2010's and was quoted two different prices from two different dealerships.

Same level of trim (G37x coupe with premium and nav).

One said my VPP price was $38,999 and the other was $36,999. $2000 difference.

Is VPP pricing not set in stone as the VPP pricing site suggests?

It is. That's why you need to know the Invoice price before going to the dealer. Don't ask your dealer for it, get it from Edmunds.com. Once you have the MSRP and Invoice they cannot mess with VPP. They have to honor it. I've seen cases in this forum where people claimed to have used VPP and yet paid more than people without it. It's because they took the dealer's word, and we know that's a mistake.

2010 G37x Sedan
Premium and Nav packages
MSRP: $40925
Invoice: $37645

Add the VPP discount to the Invoice. You might be able to get a better deal without VPP

there are different types of VPP (A, B, C, D)......its possible you are a D and from what i recall, dealerships were offering cars at A prices (which is a bigger discount than D)

so its possible that could be the reason.

VPP price is a specific % less than the invoice price of the car, plus a set fee.....in which case the only 2 variables are the invoice price and the VPP level

I was looking at a 2010 Coupe.

According to Edmunds, the invoice is $41k.

So 36,999 seems pretty good.

Of course the day I was planning to come out there I get the "oh we sold the one with Nav... how bout one without?"

I'm guessing it was b.s and they were quoting me prices on the non-nav coupe.

Gonna hold out for an '11 this summer. good times.

Classic dealer behavior. But it's true, if you don't give them a deposit, they won't hold the car for you. The 2010s were very rare in January, so it was possible that these guys offered you a car they didn't have anymore.

Good luck next time.

I talked with my local dealer and they informed me that in the month of march infiniti was offering some deal with my employer where we got bumped up to the A plan. So it worked out!

i got my car for 36700 + TTL
MSRP was like 43250 ish.

I got a 2011 G37xS sedan with navigation on March 28th.
