Funny thing is I noticed the lag after a few weeks, which made this thread very interesting. I did make my own grounding kit with the help of AZg37 and installed it a few days ago. Gotta say, the shift is much better than what it used to be, and honestly its not in my head. Not sure I will look into the update any further in the off chance my shifting gets worse...

Has that bug been worked out of the Consult 3+ cable yet, or do you still need to do Consult 3 to get the interim update, and then Sonsult 3+ to get the final update?

Last week I brought my 2011 G37X (I bought it used early this year) to a dealership and told them about the rough downshift of 2->1 gear. After the work was done, the work order shows they update it ITB10-075. The rough downshift has improved but not completely gone. However, major improvement on upshift. The upshift is more responsive and smoother.
Just curious, do I need to reset the ECU after the update?

Anyone notice their transmission shifts strange in DS mode while coasting in traffic on a hot-humid day.. This car just like my maxima does not like humid/hot weather.

I'm in AZ so I know about hot days. The strange shifting you are referring to, is it shift flaring? Like its almost hanging on to the gear to get to the next?
Same issue...
I have the update..
Hate the 7at... blah
With that said though. Hot days obviously don't play nice for our engines. or any for that matter.. cold air being sucked in vs hot air makes a huge difference.
with you having humidity I'm guessing that adds to it as well. not very humid here ever.

Exactly @mezzo it holds onto gears then ultimately drops to the lower gear with a jerky feeling.
I did clean my throttle bodies last night I was shocked there was any build up in them or maybe I didn't clean them as thoroughly as I thought the first time. I did disconnect the battery when I did this so I'll give it a few weeks to see if it's just that but the shifting is nice and smooth again.
I was thinking that smoothing out the acceleration and idle will help with the car adjusting the engine speed to match the automatic shifting so it's not so rough (makes sense in my head)
