R2C intakes installed!

I posted this on nicoclub also but thought I'd share here.

Here are some pics of the R2C intakes made for a G37 coupe installed in the M37. I had to make a couple extra brackets to extend them to the OEM mounting holes and replace one of the hoses but otherwise it fits pretty well. It's a little snug but nothing that will cause any harm. The stock filters that were in the car were probably never changed. I'm sure it was the clean filters that made the most difference but I know that when it was on the G, it made the throttle response a little snappier. I could have spray painted the brackets black but got lazy.

It definitely adds a nice growl to the motor. Many review articles have said the VQ motor is not as refined as it's competitors (and I can see why in this particular market), but I do quite enjoy the growl that the motor has. The intake definitely adds a nice grunt to it.

The air filters that were in the car were filthy and like I mentioned, it was probably the filter change that added the bulk of the performance difference. I had this intake on my G and I did notice that when I put it back to stock, it did lose some of its peppy-ness. Could be just me, but I like to think it does something for the car. I already had it, why not?
