I just sold and m35x with 192k on it off the lot, ran like a champ. I would of bought it if I had the cash.
I was just confused about the extent to which AWD kicks in when driving the car from a complete stop; some have said that the car utilizes AWD up to 25 MPH, while others have said it only does so up to 12 MPH or 14 MPH. Even more confusingly, Infiniti's own video on the feature seems to imply that it never kicks in unless road conditions change.

There is no predetermined speed when it kicks in. It just kicks in when grip is needed.

Right. Just as the video says and several of us have said. The OP heard that the AWD system worked in another manner.

It works like a Super Hero .... majority of the time they are normal people (aka RWD) until they are needed then they kick into action (aka AWD).

Sorry I was dyslexic on the split it's 30% front 70% rear to 25mph.

Where did you pick this split from? This runs counter to what Infiniti even advertises.

Was that 2012 off lease? Seems a tad early, but could have been one of the early ones. Right now, everybody and their mom, has 2011 G37 for sale. That's the year coming off lease apparently. Next year's auctions should have the 2012s.

I bought my 2011 G37x yesterday, and the dealer told me it was an off lease auction acquisition for them. He even mentioned that it was one of many 2011 that came in on that batch.

Yep, it was an off-lease car. The CarFax shows that the car was registered in late June of 2011, so it's definitely one of the first M37's manufactured for the 2012 model year. I guess whoever the first owner was really wanted an M37 and didn't want to wait!

More AWD lore:

In snow mode, the car will split power 50/50 front and rear from 0-12mph. It then behaves like normal with 100% going to the rear until slippage, and then it gives up to 50% to the front as needed.

I read this somewhere online (probably this forum) so it must be true.
