Or the tint is so dark on a "gansta" car, they just have to check it out.

I was doing 85 in a 65 on 101 through Atascadero, I lucked out getting just the fixit, as the Scion XB passing me was doing 95!!

I'm with the OP on this one. Tint really helps with the sun. Even with 20ish percent tint my left arm is still slight darker than my right, so just imagine without any tint. Unless OP is going batmobile style with 5% or something then I guess he asked for it. Either way I would rather pay the fine and be done because getting new tint will resolve in color discrepancy; there will be some degree of fade with old tint.

However, there’s still the issue of being blind as a bat at night. Yes, yes I know you’re all going to say you can see just fine at night. But that deviation from the laws of physics and human anatomy stands equally with “I’ll still respect you in the morning” or “the check is in the mail.”

You can always roll down your windows. For the record, my front side windows are not as dark as the rears. I also turn off the auto dim in the visor. Never had a problem.

Are you saying you always drive at night with the windows rolled down? In the rain? On freeways with all that noise? Well, if so I commend your resolve.

I got plenty of tint tickets in San Gabriel Valley. I always get it remove, and re-tint it after. Get it signed off with the CHP, if you get it signed off with the Sheriff, there will be an "inspection" fee. Fix it cost $25 from what I remember. They will pull you over just for tint. 20% front windows will get you pull over. 35% front windows will be a much safer bet, but still illegal.

I lived in and around the LA area for a good part of my life. I think I must have got 20 + tickets for window tint..they will pull you over just for tint.. learn how to tint your own windows its very easy.. I would buy a box of tint and when I got a ticket I would take it off get the ticket signed off and put the tint right back on..while every cop is different not all of them are going to stop you for just tint.hell I get pulled over still when I come LA and I have Nevada plates where tint is legal.
