Houston - Total Loss

Hello.

I was in an accident recently (no injuries, and not my fault) and my 09 G37S was declared a total loss. I had a very clean car, well maintained car so I am in discussions about payment amount. I purchased an extended warranty and it has time/miles left. i think that it should be taken into consideration. Does this sound reasonable? How about rental, they only gave me one week. Trying to buy a car in 1 week during the holidays seems tough. Any thoughts or suggestions.

thanks.

If you are not at fault, they have to pay a rental for as long as it reasonably takes to replace your car. They They can't reasonably force you to purchase a new car in a week. If they don't offer you what you feel is a fair amount for it, claim diminished value. It can be a PITA but it's a legitimate claim. Do some internet research on diminished value claims so that you can go into it with knowledge. Good luck.
