Banned user sticky threads

I've notice that in some sub forums there are banned user with threads that are stickied/annoucement

It would definitely make this site a whole lot better if those threads were re-sticked with exisiting good standing members.

For example, in private classified, theres stickied posts, guidelines and etc that was started by a user who is now banned. I don't know about others, but I wouldn't like to see banned users having their threads up there anymore.

Just my .02

You essentially want to re-attribute someone's words?
I personally don't like that idea. Who cares that they're banned. Does that invalidate the post?

There are plenty of reasons for a member to get banned but that shouldn't take away from the moment they made a worth while thread to get stickied. Brush it off Johnnay lol

I guess there are different type of forums ettiquette! This one happens to appreciate past members.
Again, just my two cents. Maybe I've been to other forums that are against that.

Good to know now

Sometimes staff members may be banned if they leave. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps they've moved on and aren't a part of the forum any longer. Accounts can't be deleted (at least I don't think they can) so they are banned. Some members who used to be productive forum citizens have found themselves banned for one reason or another. That doesn't diminish any good information that they shared while they were here. Also, you may see a lot of former vendors that are banned when they no longer wish to sponsor the forum. The vendor account needs to be closed so that they aren't conducting commerce here for free, and so that they are no longer inundated with a zillion PM's from members who don't know that they aren't vendors here any longer.

I will look into seeing if there's anything that can be done. I can redo (and update as necessary) the Admin announcements. Give me some time.

I can see why you wouldn't want to delete anything but it might be more useful if there was a status other than banned equivalent to disabled. I dunno, that's how I would code it

The forum uses vBulletin software. Users aren't deleted on purpose.

Thanks bro for the explanation. I was just under the impression banned user (from other forums) that they did something really bad to get that ban hammer. Don't get me wrong, those previous probably contributed more than I have. I don't want to take that away from them.
