Oh nice! Always wanted one of these. Had 8500 x50 for a long time, but false positives drove me bananas. Waze has been saving my @ss since I ditched it. haha.
This one promised to solve the problem with gps tracking. How has it been working out for you? I see escort released a couple of new detectors so I'm curious how this one still compares.

I've had my 9500ix for quite some time (7 or 8 years now). It's saved me a number of times. No radar detector will save you all the time, esp if you get 'pop'ped.

First road trip with the G resulted in an lovely $500 ticket in NC. Got popped. I was the leading out of state car in a pack of cars heading up a small hill. Cop had just crested when the detector went full blast. No time to slow down.

Speed tax!

Hah! Happened to me before as well. You can 'deal' with the laser, but that's a whole other territory a lot of people prefer not venturing into (as I'm sure you are aware of).
Also, NC is a bit of a car **** state. Kind of wish I learned this before moving here, but not sure if it would change my decision in the end. Smokies are a joy to drive around.

Hey Kiseliok, sorry for the late response, i don't check the forums often haha. Honestly I've only ever used it for road trips. I just keep it in my glove box when daily driving because I have a windshield sun shade I use and it's inconvenient sometimes to take off the radar just to put the shade up. Otherwise, it has saved me plenty of times, gives me plenty of time to slow down. Sorry I can't comment too much on false alarms, with the GPS it does filter out the random automatic doors at corner places like Walgreens/CVS.
